About
Zara Picken is an illustrator based in the UK. She has been working as an illustrator since graduating from the University of the West of England in Bristol in 2008.
Her bold style incorporates vibrant colours, geometric forms and subtle texture. She enjoys playing with highlights and shadows to create her striking layered compositions. Blurring the line between computer and paper-cut art, Zara works digitally to deliver concise concepts with strong visual impact.
Zara works with a diverse range of international clients, creating illustrations for editorial, publishing and advertising.
In her spare time, Zara works on her archive project Modern Illustration (a history of illustration of print c.1950-1975.)
